Why was I charged $1?

A small charge of $1 (or the equivalent in your local currency) is a pre-authorization hold — not a real payment.

What is a pre-authorization?

When you add a new payment method, we place a temporary $1 hold to verify that your card is valid and has available funds. This is standard practice used by most subscription services.

Will I be double-charged?

No. The $1 hold is automatically released by your bank within 1–5 business days. You will only be charged the actual subscription price — not $1 on top of it.

It's still showing on my statement

Banks show pre-authorizations differently — some label them as "pending," others show them as completed charges. If it hasn't disappeared after 7 days, contact your bank directly and mention it was a pre-authorization hold. You can also reach us at [e-mail].
